I bought 2 of these and they fit and install very well , they increased my range and also let me pick up a lot more FM stations clearly . I am going to get another for my third radio , the price is ridiculously low for the quality . Bill

Long Antenna
I needed a longer antenna for my UV 5R to increase its gain to hit a distant repeater. This antenna did just that. It is a little bit floppy though. I can overlook that as it was easy to swap out with the normal length antenna for my regular monitoring activities.

Much better than the OEM antenna
This antenna was low priced, and much better than the OEM antenna on all my UV-5xx and BF-F8 H-Ts. The antenna that came with these radios were little better than a dummy load, but put the Nagoya antenna on these radios and it was like having a UHF band opening. Repeater access on all frequencies was very nice, most within 15 miles full quieting and clear audio. The antenna does weigh enough to tip the radio over by over balancing it, but the gain in range was worth the inconvenience. Whether it was the original Nagoya, or a knock off copy - it worked. Been a Ham for over 35 years, so I think I know what I'm telling you. This antenna definitely makes a difference.

Nice little quarter wave for UHF and VHF. Works great around town, but if you are in the fringes, you may want to go with an antenna with gain.
