Common fire Clay Bricks are made of 50% soft clay and 50% hard clay. Ordinary brick size is 230 * 114 * 65 (mm), clay brick belongs to the weak acid refractory products, can resist acid slag erosion and acid gases, clay brick good thermal shock stability, resistance to thermal shock, clay brick is widely large and medium-sized, electric insulation layer of hot air stove, and blast furnace gas lift tube and cooling the lining.


The mineral composition of common clay brick is mainly kaolinite (Al2O3·2SiO2·2H2O) and 6 ~7% of impurities (potassium, sodium, calcium, titanium, iron oxide).The sintering process of clay bricks is mainly the process of the crystallization of mullite (3Al2O3·2SiO2) by the continuous water loss of kaolinite.SiO2 and Al2O3 in clay bricks are formed in the process of sintering with impurities to form the silicate with low melting point of eutectic, surrounding the crystal of mullite.
