A chartered engineer certificate from an independent Inspection company is a mandatory requirement in order to export used or refurbished machinery to India. This is the requirement of Indian customs. The Inspection Company must be authorised by Indian Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) to provide Chartered Engineer Certificates.
