Background
In 2006 the unique 5,000L Novatank collapsible tank was developed and patented worldwide. It is the most functional collapsible tank because it can be rolled through doors, washed on the inside and 25,000L capacity can be transported in the same space as a rigid 5,000L tank. This new technology in tank design creates new possibilities for water storage and tank transportation, previously unthinkable with conventional tanks. Types of tanks
Novatank manufactures only 5,000L tanks and they come in two types
1. Polyvinyl Chloride (PVC) non-potable Liner or a
2. Thermoplastic Polyurethane (TPU) potable Liner which is suitable for human consumption and FDA approved.
Subject to application, you need to decide which will be suitable for you. Most of our sales are for the PVC tank because applications usually are not for human consumption. Drinking water that was stored in the PVC liner is like drinking water out of a hosepipe - there is a slight plastic taste to it but still palatable.

FOB (Free on Board)

Supply
As stated above, the minimum order quantity (MOQ) is only 1 tank. Ideally for logistics (and cost) 1 pallet (5 tanks) is best as it gets shipped in a LCL (Less than a Container Load). Three pallets (15 tanks) go into a 20' FCL (Full Container Load) and a 40’ FCL contains 7 pallets of 35 tanks.
Lead Times
FOB is usually 2 weeks from payment subject to vessel availability. Destination ports have offloaded containers in as little as 2 weeks although some destinations can take 4 weeks.

Transport

- The top cover is secured to the base using 4 bolts. With excessive weight and especially on a bumpy road, the bottom tank's bolts will shear or tear into the cover
4. Accessories supplied with each tank
Novatank is engineered to be supplied complete, ready to be used and thus it will be unnecessary for you to have to look for fittings for the tank. Below are some pics of the Dust Cover, Filter, a Retainer containing the poles that hold the 400mm Dust Cover down on to the filter. The Filter and Accessories remain dust-free under the Dust Cover.

You can arrange outlet nipples to suit your needs as the pictures above indicate. It is recommended to use a little thread-sealing tape on the threads of the two Tank Adaptors on the liner that are supplied already tightened to the liner. Threads used on all fittings are BSPT. Please note this when using different fittings than what is supplied by Novatank to avoid cross-threading, especially of the Tank Adaptors.Our Services

Packaging
Every Novatank is individually wrapped and when loaded on a palletalsowrapped together. This ensures the tanks remain clean during storage and distribution.
Supply

Freight Forwarders (FF's)
All Novatank shipping is FOB (Free on Board). This means you need to add the costs from the port where the ship is loaded to your destination. Novatank can recommend FF's for you to use as they have a worldwide warehouse footprint and are efficient and economical.You are ofcourse welcome to get your own quotes but you'll find third-party FF's are not necessarily cheaper because Novatank's FF's are used to handling the size and weight of the Novatank pallets.
If you choose to go by Novatank's recommendation, Novatank will get an Estimate of freight from them and add that to the total Estimate of the order. If you accept the Estimate a Pro Forma Invoice (PFI) will be generated with final amounts.

Can I erect the Novatank by myself?
It's not recommended but there is a way of achieving this. It will be helpfull to refer to the Instruction Manual (IM) supplied with your tank. If you don't have an IM you can download one here: http://www.novatank.com/forms/contactus.html
1. Remove the cover (Page 8 from the IM and steps 1 to 4)
2. Lift the top steel ring slightly on one side and place it about 100mm over the edge of the base. Do the same on the opposite side
3. Place two poles onto the two adjacent spigots you can see on the bottom ring
4. Stand between the two poles facing the tank and lift the top ring so that it rests on the two poles. The ring and liner will now be at about 45o
5. Fetch one pole and go to the side where the top ring is the lowest. Holding the pole in your one hand, lift the ring with your other until level (about 2m off the ground). Ensure the ring does not slip off either of the two poles on the other side.
6. Place the pole under the ring to keep it up
7. Fetch the last pole and place it over one of the spigots
8. Holding the loose pole, carefully lift the ring and place it on top of this pole that is on the spigot
9. Place the last pole over the spare spigot
10. Work your way around the top ring lifting the ring and placing the top spigots into the poles (Page 9 steps 6 & 7)
11. Roll the cover to the tank and lean the cover against a pole with the inside of the cover facing the pole
12. Go to where the cover touches the ground and lift and slide the cover onto the top ring (Page 10 steps 8 to 14)
Is Novatank only short-term liquid storage?
No. Novatank uses the term short-term because this is what most customers use the tanks for. We have had tests of full tanks that stand for 2 years and we test all new developments for 4 months. The liners won't bulge, tear or start leaking with long-term storage.
