What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are a non-surgical treatment to rejuvenate the face by reducing fine lines and wrinkles. As we get older, we start to lose volume around certain areas of the face which can make us look tired and sunken. This is caused by the body's decreased ability to produce collagen and elastin.Unlike wrinkles which require muscle relaxants to soften them, facial volume and folds require a dermal filler to help re-volumise and hydrate the area.Dermal fillers is highly effective at restoring the fullness and plumpness of the area they're applied to, as well as stimulating the growth of collagen giving your skin a much needed hydration boost.Dermal Fillers are used to treat many areas, they can fill in deep lines, creases and wrinkles while adding volume to thin or wrinkled lips.

How does it work?
Over time the skin loses its elasticity, and the fat under the skin starts to disappear. These dynamic changes lead to wrinkles and an older look. Dynamic wrinkles that are more prominent when contracting your muscles are best treated with muscle relaxant injections. Static wrinkles that don't change with your face movement are best treated with dermal fillers. Dermal fillers will fill the gap underneath the wrinkles that used to be filled with fat (see pictures below). Dermal fillers also stimulate your skin to produce collagen, which will give your skin more strength and a fresher look.
