Spanish SAT of Parda de Montaña

The SAT Ganadera Parda de Montaña is a Society of Agricultural Processors with the aim of marketing the products from its associates and add value to products obtained using Parda de Montaña local breed. These associates belong to the Breeding Association of Parda de Montaña beef cow breed (ARAPARDA). At this moment 500 herds from all Spain are members of the SAT. The SAT goals are marketing live animals, and also semen and embryos. Besides, it commercialises beef meat from the animals of the associates.

This breed owes its name to the color of its coat and its geographic settlement. The first data of this breed appeared in Spain more than 160 years ago, crossing the breed Alpina with native breeds of the north of Spain, to obtain a more productive animal in meat.
