On Phase Change Materials
Definition of Phase Change Materials
Phase change materials (PCMs) are substances that change their shape with temperature and provide latent heat. The process of phase change material from solid to liquid or from liquid to solid is called phase change process. At this time, phase change material will absorb or release a lot of latent heat.
Characteristics of Phase Change Materials
1. High heat storage, high efficiency, ensure hot water supply in the system
2. Remove the traditional solar water heater water tank and save space.
3. Make the installation of water heater no longer subject to floor restrictions, installation and use more convenient.
4. Make the hot water supply of the system no longer affected by the weather
5. The whole system has no power design, less heat loss, more energy-saving and environmental protection.
Technology of Phase Change Materials in Textiles
1. Silk screen printing can be processed on any fabric. The content of phase change material can be adjusted according to the need. It can directly contact the skin and has strong washing resistance.
2. The impregnation method can process any fabric with water absorption, without changing the appearance of the fabric and having a higher calorific value.
3. The spinning of viscose staple fibers reaches 50j/g in 2.3d and 70j/g in 6.7d. The spinning of acrylic fibers and Lesser fibers is also under test.
On Post-Finishing Process of Phase Change Materials in Textiles-Spinning
There are two kinds of spinning methods: dry spinning and wet spinning, and wet spinning is mainly viscose staple fibers. Dry spinning contains nylon.
Now nylon in our company can add about 15% phase change materials, and the enthalpy value can also be about 40j/g.
As for the spinning process of nylon, we divide it into FDY and DTY.
FDY: Low production cost, stable quality of finished products, less broken ends of wool, good dyeing uniformity, straight appearance, after full stretching, the fibers can be directly used in textile processing;
DTY: Drawing deformed filament, the appearance of the fibers is bending, with a certain degree of elasticity and shrinkage.

Advantages of spinning:
To improve the fluidity and the temperature of the spinning solution is low, we can achieve 100d/36f as roughest as possible.
