The factory was established in Jerusalem in 1950 by a number of members of the Gelbard family. The idea of baking ice cream cones was not far from them, as baked products were well established in the origins of the family for many generations.Gilro has developed, using extensive engineering and technological knowledge, manufacturing equipment and processes that have few parallels in the world. The factory has some 17 different production lines that provide for the manufacture of ice cream cones, wafers and other sweet products with a wide variety and excellent quality. The entire production floor is fully automated and computer controlled and raw materials are untouched by human hand.
