Lifeline Tele Consultation is a general term for any consultation between doctors or between doctors and patients on a network or video link. In other words, it is any medical consultation by either a non-medical consumer, or by a health care professional from a colleague on an electronic network–eg intranet, Internet, Skype, etc.
Teleconsultation simply means obtaining the professional opinion of a healthcare provider who is not physically available at the location where the patient and/or his primary healthcare provider are.
Teleconsultation takes many forms. A doctor at one hospital calling a senior colleague at another hospital to get his opinion regarding a difficult case is practicing one form of teleconsultation.
