Francesco Condorelli founded Condorelli in 1933 and his dream has now become a family legacy. The original Condorelli pastry shop still exisist today in the same location. The story of Francesco Condorelli is that ofa self- made man. Later knighted, Francescos idea to reinvent the traditional Italian nougat shaped the future of the company. Francesco created a single portion of soft nougat following a dinner at the homes friends in Venaria Reale, near Turin. This nougat, now called torrocino was born when Francesco was serving a stick of nougat that was broken with a knife in large unequal parts. Francesco received the largest piece and this unequal division did not seem right. He also realized that the nougat was very hard to chew, especially for the elderly.Once Francesco figured out how to make the torroncino, it quickly became famous in the Catania province of Sicily. Francesco began taking trains to let pastry shops in Emilia Romagna and Lombardy try his torroncino. Once people tasted the torroncino they quickly became customers, many of whom still sell the Condorelli products. Condorelli raised brand awareness through a major advertising campaign on national television in 1983. By increasing the audience, Condorelli became an Italian household brand. By the end of the 1980s the sale of torroncino was so successful that Condorelli had 82 agents and area managers. In the early 1990s Condorelli established relationships with larger Italian distributors.Condorellis main market is Italy with over 4,000 direct customers in the HORECA channel and business relationships with major retailers. Condorelli is sold and marketed in over 30 countries. Once Condorellis torroncino was established a household brand, Condorelli began to diversify its product line. However, Condorelli still follows the artisan tradition, which with the help of production techniques can work up for 15,000 pounds of nougat a day. We are able to transform up to: 6,000 kg of almonds, 1,500 kg of honey and 2,500 kg of chocolate per day. We are leader in Italy in the beverage market of the Almond drink ...We manufacture products of fine pastry whith Almonds, Pistachio of Bronte, Hazelnuts, Citrus, Honey...We produce a line of chocolate desserts that draw on regional flavous. We create unique products such as dark chocolate with candied organizes from Sicily or white chocolate with Bronte Pistachios.A unique and very popular, one-of-akind product, these soft nougat pieces with their rich, gratifying taste are number one and come in 7 different flavoured coatings: vanilla, dark chocolate, milk chocolate, gianduia chocolate, coffee, and sicilian orange and lemon to enhance the flavour of almonds and pistachios. The production plants are certified according to ISO 22000:2005 Standard, BRC and IFS Certifications.Every year Condorelli realizes advertising campaigns for itsproducts. In 2012 it was the only company in the industry to broadcast an advertising campaign on major Italian television networks during the Christmas season. Also in 2013 the historic testimonial Leo Gullotta, was joined by the Sicilian actress Barbara Tabita.
