Tomoi Kogei began as a metal processing company in 1990. Specializing in making artistic products, we have fabricated objects for corporations, public monuments, film and theater sets as well as large scale art works. In addition to art works, Tomoi Kogei has designed products for a wide range of purposes, including artworks in museums, unique musical instruments and items for use in daily life. In particular, the Tomoi Premier Ice Pick, won the 2010 Japanese Good Design prize. Our present customers include Takarazuka Kagekidan--one of Japan's most famous theater companies--and Japan's national TV/Radio broadcasting company--NHK. In addition, as art team staff members, Tomoi Kogei has contributed to the production of films by directors Naomi Kawase (a Cannes Film Festival winner) and Takashi Miike. Tomoi Kogei metal works not only directs the design of products, but alsophysically produces the items as a team using world class level techniques.
