Mercurysphygmomanometeris a devicewhatused to measure blood pressure, comprising an inflatable cuff to restrict blood flowandmechanical manometer to measure the pressure. It is always used
together with Stethoscopes.

Mercury Sphygmomanometer Instruction:
a. The product is in compliance with EN1060Non-invasive sphygmomanometers;
b. Operating procedure:
1. Position the pressure cuff
2. Inflate the cuff
3. Slowly deflate the cuff
4. Systolic pressure
5. Diastolic pressure
c. Mercury
Internal nominal diameter of the tube containing mercury is 2.8mm.
d. Maintenance
Under normal condition, the device is recommended to be calibrated every two years.

1. Guideline and precautions

3. Mercury spillage
When dealing with a mercury spillage, wear latex gloves. Avoid prolonged inhalation of mercury vapor. Do not use an open vacuum system to aid collection.
4. Cleaning the manometer tube
To obtain the best results from a mercury-type sphygmomanometer, the manometer tube should be cleaned at regular intervals ( e.g. under the recommended maintenance schedule ).
