Balloon uterine stent was designed to fit into the uterine cavity and tamponade the uterus to prevent post-operative uterine bleeding, which is commonly placed following intrauterine hysteroscopic surgery.
The stent mechanically separates the walls of the endometrial cavity to prevent adhesion reformation and is usually kept in place for five to seven days to allow adequate healing of the endometrium.
