Intended Use
TheSyphilis Rapid Test Device (Whole Blood/Serum/Plasma) is a rapid visual immunoassay for the qualitative, presumptive detection of IgM and IgG antibodies to Treponema Pallidum (TP) in human Whole Blood, serum or plasma specimens. This kit is intended for use as an aid in the diagnosis of syphilis.
Principle
Syphilis (TP) antibody detection diagnostic reagent strip (colloidal gold method) adopts the principle of double antigen sandwich method, and uses gold immunochromatography to detect syphilis specific antibody. Gold labeled TP antigen and mouse monoclonal antibody were pre coated on polyester fiber (or non-woven fabric). TP antigen and anti mouse IgG antibody were coated on the nitrocellulose membrane detection line and quality control control line respectively. After the serum (or plasma) sample is added into the sample adding hole of the test paper, the serum (or plasma) moves along the test paper to dissolve the gold labeled antigen. If the sample contains specific antibody, two purplish red lines will appear in the reaction zone; if there is no specific antibody in the sample, only one purple red line will appear.

Procedure and Result Reading
1. Return the strip and the sample to room temperature (20-30 ℃).
2. Take out the test strip from the original package, insert it into the serum or plasma sample for 8-10 seconds (the sample liquid level should not exceed the max indicator line of the test strip), take it out and put it on the table top.
3. The results were observed within 15 minutes, but not after 20 minutes.
Note: the reagent strips taken out of the original package should be used as soon as possible within 1 hour, especially when the room temperature is higher than 30 ℃ or in a highly humid environment.
Positive: two purplish red bands appeared at the detection line and quality control control line of the reagent strip. The positive results showed that there were syphilis antibodies in the samples.
Negative: only one purple red band appeared at the quality control control line. The negative results showed that syphilis surface antibody could not be detected in the samples.
Invalid: there is no purplish red band in the quality control control control line, indicating incorrect operation process or failure of the kit. In this case, read the manual carefully again and test again with a new reagent strip.
