The BOLV geocell geosynthetic cellular confinement system is a matrix of lightweight, expandable and flexible thermoplastic strips that are ultrasonically bonded to form a strong, dimensionally stable and inert honeycomb structure.
PLASTIC GEOCELL slope protection
The BOLV geocell is honeycombed three-dimensional grid structure which is welded by high-strength HDPE sheet. The BOLV geocell is easy to stretch. It can be folded up when transport and opened to fill the earth or concrete when use it. It will constitute a strong lateral and large stiffness of the structure when use it. In the geotechnical engineering, soil, sand, stone, concrete and other fill together constitute a different cohesion, different reinforcement strength, different depth of the cushion. The cushion can be placed in the required position accordance with the requirements of the project for Reinforcement of roads, railways and soft soil foundation, slope protection, green structure, the construction of retaining walls and so on. The most important feature is can solve and complete a variety of difficult problems which can’t be dealed with use conventional method in geotechnical engineering,such as bridge jumping, soft base subsidence, fouling, landslides and desert subgrade.
BOLV GEOCELL Panel Placement and Connection
Position and expand BOLV GEOCELL panels to the appropriate dimensions. Hold individual geocell panels in their expanded positions with rebar J-pins or wooden stakes. Join hdpe geocell panels using traditional stapling methods or connecting studs.
Confirm each BOLV GEOCELL panel is expanded uniformly and correctly aligned. Nest geocell panels along each joint to ensure adjacent BOLV GEOCELL panels are flush at joint and adjoining geocells are fully anchored. Alternate the installation of rebar J-pins or wooden stakes to ensure each geocell panel is stable.
BOLV GEOCELL is fabricated from High Density Polyethylene (HDPE), which is mad of high-strength HDPE sheet. The hdpe geocell walls are perforated creating permeable walls to allow water to drain through the system.When filled with granular materials, the system creates a three dimensional erosion barrier and structural bridge that uniformly distributes weight-bearing loads. The cellular nature of BOLV GEOCELL enhances drainage and prevents build-up of hydrostatic pressure.

Exposed Aggregate or Engineered Infill
Fill BOLV GEOCELL with specified aggregate material progressively from front to back. Be sure to use an infill material with particle sizes appropriate for the specified depth of the BOLV GEOCELL.

For vegetative walls fill inner cells progressively with aggregate infill material. Limit the drop height of infill material to 1m to avoid displacement of the hdpe geocell wall. Fill outer cells with soil to allow vegetation to grow.

The production of the geocell sheet and the ultrasonic welding process are separated. After the sufficient geocell sheet is stored, the workers will prepare the geocell sheets and transport them close to the welding platform of the ultrasonic welding machine. The operation of the ultrasonic welding machine is Manual and the welding process is semi-automatic operation. The workers should put the geocell sheet into the specified welding position,then touch the welding switch, the ultrasonic welding start. The number of sheets to be welded is set in advance. After the ultrasonic welding completed, the workers pull out the welded geocell sheet and checks the geocell welding quality. Both ends are trimmed and cut.
