In recent years, HbA1c) has been paid more and more attention in clinic. HbA1c) is formed by the combination of some special parts of hemoglobin A and glucose through slow and irreversible non-enzymatic reaction. When the concentration of glucose in blood is high, the content of glycosylated hemoglobin is also relatively high. The lifespan of red blood cells is 120 days, and the content of glycosylated hemoglobin in blood remains relatively unchanged before the death of red blood cells.

It can help to judge the prognosis of diabetic patients with retinopathy, its HbA1c is 8-10, indicating the moderate degree of lesion, can be treated by laser, if more than 10% is serious lesions, the prognosis is poor.
