Ultrasonic pulses generated by the sensor (transducer) sent in the measurement, the surface acoustic wave after reflection by the liquid or receiving the same ultrasonic receiver transducer, a piezoelectric crystal or a magnetostrictive element into an electrical signal by transmitting and receiving sound waves the time between the sensor to calculate the distance to the measured surface of the liquid. As a result of non-contact measurement, the measured media is almost unlimited, and can be widely used for measuring the height of a variety of liquid and solid materials.
