The vibration hopper works stably and is suitable for all kinds of small workpieces which have been partially finished. Vibration hopper has a certain versatility. When used for different workpieces with similar size and weight, only the directional mechanism needs to be replaced (see loading and unloading device of machine tool).

The vibrating hopper is composed of hopper, directional mechanism, supporting spring, electromagnet and base. Most of the hoppers are of the disc type (there are also straight grooves), and there is a spiral upward inclined chute on the inner side of the disc. The directional mechanism is arranged near the outlet of the material trough, and the workpiece moves along the inclined chute when passing through the outlet. The support springs are usually 3 or 4 plate springs, which are installed at an angle. As the vibration source, the electromagnet is connected with AC power or supplied with half wave rectified pulsating current. The armature is installed at the bottom of the hopper, and the air gap can be adjusted. After being electrified, the electromagnet sucks and releases the armature at a certain frequency, thus driving the hopper to rotate and vibrate up and down under the support of the inclined supporting spring. Some vibrating hoppers do not need electromagnet to excite, but use cam, crank connecting rod mechanism or eccentric block to produce vibration.
