Wolfberry or scientifically known asis one of the ancient fruit that has been used for centuries for numerous health benefits. It also being called as Goji Berries. This wonderful berries being used by traditional Asian healer to treat numerous health ailments including diabetes, lower back pain, dry skin, anaemia, dry cough, liver and kidney disorder. In addition to that healers also address this super fruit as the key to preserve youth and boosting longevity.
Wolfberry also contain enormous amount of nutrient and minerals including vitamin C, beta-carotene, calcium, potassium, iron, zinc, vitamin B2, selenium and several amino acids. Apart from that, goji berries also a good source of dietary fiber, protein and carbohydrate. On top of that, wolfberry also rich in unique compounds known as Lycium barbarum polysaccharides, which are proven antioxidants. Moreover, it also contains a high level of zeaxanthin, powerful antioxidant that is proven to improve vision and may help to reduce the risk of eye problems, such as age-related macular degeneration and cataract disease.
Many research discovered that wolfberry has the ability in inhibit the growth of cell cancer. Lycium barbarum polysaccharide (LBP) compound present in the wolfberry exhibit the immune-modulatory and anti-tumor activity in human body.
