1.How do you clean it when it gets soiled with food? What about mold, which is especially likely when storing cheese? Retain food odors/flavors?
I left some beets wrapped up and they got yucky, so I washed mine with warm water and dish soap. That got the icky stuff, the smell and most of the red color off the wrap. I love the wraps, use them for bread also.
I wrap cheese with it almost exclusively. It works great. One time the yellow cheese got a little dried out because I left it so long, probably would have happened in plastic. I clean it with warm water and a little bit of natural dish soap.
2.how you store these when not in use?
I just fold them up and put them where I keep the foil and baggies.
I would either put them back in the cardboard sleeve or a ziplock storage bag.
I fold them and put them in a cotton produce bag, then keep this handy package right in the same drawer as my kitchen towels and reusable fabric bags.
3.Are these recyclable? How do you dispose of them when they're spent?
Our products are reusable, biodegradable, and compostable. At the end of your wrap’s useful life in the kitchen, cut the wrap into strips to add to your compost heap, or wrap them around pieces of kindling and use as a natural and effective fire starter.
