White Poppy Seeds
The poppy plant is obtained from the seed of the yellowish opium plant that grows around the Mediterranean Sea. Poppy grown since the 6th century is considered to be one of the oldest plants grown by mankind. White poppy seed is a species grown and used widely in the Middle East. White poppy is used in Indian cuisine to give sauces taste, texture and consistency. White poppy, which has less sweetness than blue poppy, green lentils and rice can be used in meals prepared with ease. It contains trace amounts of opium, called opium. This chemical content is mostly caused by immature seeds. However, this type of spice is not used as the effect is not noticeable amount. Can be stored for long periods of time when stored in a cool place, such as a refrigerator.
