N95 medical mask and personal protective mask
Material
Other anti-particulate mask levels certified by NIOSH include: N95, N99, N100, R95, R99, R100, P95, P99, P100, a total of 9 types.
All these protection levels can cover the protection scope of N95. "N" means not resistant to oil and suitable for non-oily
particles. "R" means resistant to oil, which is suitable for oily or non-oily particles. If it is used for the protection of oily
particles, the service time should not exceed 8 hours. "P" means oil proof, which is suitable for oily or non-oily particles. If
it is used for oily particles, the use time should follow the suggestions of the manufacturer. "95", "99" and "100" refer to the
filtration efficiency level when tested with 0.3 micron particles. "95" means the filtering efficiency is above 95%, "99" means
the filtering efficiency is above 99%, and "100" means the filtering efficiency is above 99.7%.
Function
The N95 type mask is one of the 9 particulate matter protective masks certified by NIOSH. "N" means not resistant to oil ). "95"
means that when exposed to a specified number of special test particles, the particle concentration inside the mask is more than
95% lower than that outside the mask. Among them, 95% is not the average value, but the minimum value. N95 is not a specific
product name. As long as it meets the N95 standard and has passed NIOSH review, it can be called "N95 mask ". The level of
protection is N95, which means the filtering efficiency of mask filter material to non-oily particles (such as dust, acid mist,
paint mist, microorganism, etc.) reaches 95% under the detection conditions specified by NIOSH standard.
