AKD wax is obtained from higher fatty acids (C-18) which is via acylation and dehydrochlorination. So this product has excellent water resistance performance as the alkyl chain of higher fatty acids. As a basic sizing agent, AKD was has been widely used in paper-making industry as emulsion.
